Clear Objectives Finally Define War in Afghanistan
"It's clear that the decision to send 30,000 more American servicemen and women into harms way was one that was not taken lightly, by our Generals or the President. But the real threat of another terrorist attack on American soil, planned in the hills of Afghanistan is real and must be addressed.
That's why I applaud the President for listening to his Generals and making the bold decision to lay out a new strategy for the war on terror in Afghanistan.
As a veteran, I know how important it is for our troops to have a clear set of objectives from their leaders when their lives are on the line. The President outlined those clear objectives tonight.
Tonight's announcement also gives me confidence that my brothers and sisters are fighting for a reason and the sacrifices of our soldiers and their families were not, and will not be in vain."
