Health Care
With regards to Healthcare Reform, or what has come to be known in the 5th District as Obamacare, I do:
- Believe the current bill is far from perfect; too much focus on some issues and not nearly enough focus on others
- Know that some type of legislation needed to be passed so that we have a starting point to work with moving forward
- Understand the opposition to the bill and the reasons. They are similar to the concerns voiced during the passage of Social Security and Medicare. However, it is worth noting that the people who spoke out against Social Security and Medicare are now the very citizens who are benefiting the most from these programs
- Know that, all parties taking a Common Sense approach to healthcare reform will help our Country as a whole benefit from the end result
